Decide to proclaim the judgment against one of the Gifts of Dignity detainees in Tamra on June 18th.

The Central Occupation Court in Haifa ordered to hold a special session today, Thursday, to deliver the judgment against Tamrian detainee Mustafa Awwad (21), who was held in Heba al-Karamah, on June 18.

The prosecution requested that the court sentence young Awwad to actual imprisonment for a term of 8 to 11 years during the hearing.

On February 20, 2023, the court found Awwad guilty of “terrorism” and “participating in the assault of a Jew from Mitzpe Aviv when he was in Tamra at the time.”

The court summarised Awad’s case during today’s session. Awad was detained in the midst of the May 2021 uprising, in favor of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa, and the Gaza Strip, and in protest of Israeli attacks on Palestinian residents of the occupied territories.
