Gaza: 15 missing mobile phones worth NIS 20,000 seized
The “Cybercrimes” Department of the General Investigation Department in Gaza Governorate seized 15 missing cell phones with a total price of 20,000 shekels, after informing their owners through the electronic system of phones that they had lost their cell phones. The “Electronic Crimes” department stated that it followed up on the reports submitted through the complainants through the electronic system, indicating that the lost phones were seized within less than 48 hours, and all cases were referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures against the thieves. It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in cooperation with the General Investigations Department of the Gaza police, has launched an electronic service to record the data of citizens’ smartphones in addition to the service of reporting lost devices, which comes within the framework of facilitating citizens from accessing lost devices and ensuring that they are not sold.
