Jerusalem, May 5, 2026 (WAFA) – Settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Tuesday, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces .
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that dozens of settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups from the Mughrabi Gate, carried out provocative tours in its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals and epic prostrations .
The governorate added that these incursions come amid warnings of an escalation led by the so-called “Temple Mount organizations,” in cooperation with figures in the occupation government, with the aim of imposing large-scale incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday, May 15, 2026, in a move described as dangerous to impose changes in the historical and legal reality existing inside the mosque, and to harm its religious status .
In the same context, a group of female occupation soldiers stormed the western corridor of Al-Aqsa Mosque and waved occupation flags.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that members of the so-called “Border Guard” of the occupation police entered the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, where female soldiers raised the Israeli occupation flags and waved them from above the western portico, in an unprecedented scene inside the sanctuary.
She said this development comes after the occupation police previously pursued settlers who tried to raise flags inside Al-Aqsa, reflecting a shift in its behavior and role towards these violations.
She added: This coincides with calls launched by the so-called Temple organizations to storm Al-Aqsa and raise Israeli flags on Friday, May 15, coinciding with what is known as the Hebrew anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem.
