Hamas: The occupying government's gathering in the Western Wall's tunnels is a worsening of the religious conflict.

Hazem Qassem, the spokeswoman for the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” viewed the Israeli occupation government’s weekly meeting in the Al-Buraq Wall tunnels in occupied Jerusalem as a risky escalation of the occupation’s ongoing religious campaign against the Holy City.

In a statement released on Sunday, Qassem claimed that the Israeli government’s plans to approve these Judaization measures on Sunday represent an attempt to misrepresent the identity of Jerusalem and a clear act of aggression against our people and our country.

Qassem stressed that our Palestinian people will continue their fight and legitimate struggle to preserve the Arab and Islamic identity of the Palestinian city of Jerusalem. It is scheduled that the Israeli government will hold its weekly session inside one of the tunnels under Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the 56th anniversary of the so-called “occupation of Jerusalem.” The government is also expected to approve several projects, including the development of the Old City in occupied Jerusalem, at a value of half a million shekels, in addition to the appointment of a ministerial committee to follow up on Jerusalem affairs.
