Gaza, April 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Strip has risen to 72,585 martyrs and 172,370 wounded since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023 .
The sources explained that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 17 martyrs during the past twenty-four hours (including 13 martyrs during the past 24 hours, and 32 injuries ).
She noted that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 809, and the total number of injuries to 2,267, while 761 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble .
The sources indicated that a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and rescue teams have been unable to reach them until this moment .
