Tehran announced on Saturday the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, due to the continued US blockade of its ports.
The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters said in a press statement, “Based on negotiations, we agreed to allow a number of ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz in good faith.”
He added that the United States had once again violated its promises and continued its maritime piracy.
He continued, “Therefore, the Strait of Hormuz will be restored to its status before the recent agreement.”
This decision comes hours after oil tankers and international ships began moving towards the strait from several countries, following the announcement of its opening, after the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, which was supposed to take effect as part of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.#Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz
