Al-Atta was quoted in the press as saying that the support forces had looted the state’s stock of national currency and the Bank of Sudan’s gold reserves. This came shortly after the Sudanese army declared that the Rapid Support Forces had violated the armistice by attacking the headquarters of the currency printing presses in Khartoum.
