Bethlehem, March 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces uprooted hundreds of olive trees on Monday in the “Wadi al-Hummus” area near Dar Salah town and al-Khas village, east of Bethlehem.
Activist Nidal Hazeibi told Wafa that the occupation bulldozed nearly 50 dunams in the “Al-Buq’a” area in “Wadi Al-Hummus”, and uprooted hundreds of olive trees that are over 60 years old, belonging to citizens from Bethlehem, and the town of Sur Baher in Jerusalem, in addition to a number of forest trees.
The occupation forces had stormed the area about a week ago and created an opening in the apartheid wall, in preparation for bulldozing the land.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation forces and settlers carried out a total of 1,965 attacks during the month of February, in continuation of the ongoing series of terrorism by the occupying state against the Palestinian people and their property . The occupation army carried out 1,454 attacks, while the settlers carried out 511 attacks, all of which were concentrated in the governorates of: Hebron with 421 attacks, then Nablus with 340 attacks, Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 320 attacks, and Jerusalem with 210 attacks .
The commission indicated that the attacks varied between direct physical assault, uprooting trees, burning fields, seizing property, and demolishing homes and agricultural facilities, at a time when the occupation forces close off large areas of Palestinian land under the pretext of “security,” while settlers are being enabled to expand within them .
