The so-called Israeli “civil administration” Supreme Planning Committee proposed constructing 615 settlement units in the occupied West Bank, including a new settlement close to Salfit Governorate, according to information made public by the left-wing Israeli “Peace Now” organization.

The Israeli committee considered encouraging the development of 554 housing units in the “Givat Ze’ev” settlement, one settlement unit in the “Gitamar” settlement, and two units in the “Beit Aryeh” settlement, according to a statement from the movement.

She stated that a tender for the construction of 58 homes in the “Ariel West” settlement had been reopened by the Israeli Ministry of Housing.

It forewarned that the development of these apartments would mark the beginning of an essentially new settlement two km away from the “Ariel” hamlet and close to Salfit.

She continued, “It appears that the primary agenda of the current Israeli government is the annexation of the Palestinian territories.”

“Decisions to promote more than 550 units in one settlement, in addition to issuing a tender to establish a new settlement, “Ariel West,” join the previous annexation decisions of the occupation government, she said, such as the legalization of 15 settlement outposts, the promotion of thousands of units in settlements, and the transfer of authority to the minister. The elimination of the disengagement policy and Smotrich in the Ministry of Defence Northern West Bank is under the law.
