Iyad al-Hassani, a member of the military council and the officer in charge of its operations unit, was mourned by the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine.

Iyad al-Hassani joined the Islamic Jihad movement shortly after it was established in the 1980s.

One of the most senior Al-Quds Brigades leaders, Al-Hassani, has been on Israel’s wanted list for more than 26 years. He is one of those who oversaw the martyrdom operations carried out inside “Israel” by the military arm of the oldest “section” of the Islamic Jihad, and he is also in charge of several other operations during the second intifada.

He participated in the 1995 Beit Lid operation, which claimed the lives of 22 Israelis, making it one of the most well-known operations he oversaw.

Al-Hassani has long been in charge of Saraya’s operations division.

He was crucial in resisting Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and launching rockets toward Israel over the course of several years.

On May 12th, “Israel” targeted a domestic flat in Gaza City’s Al-Naser neighborhood and executed him and another person inside.
