Jerusalem, February 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures this morning at the Qalandiya checkpoint north of occupied Jerusalem and the Bethlehem checkpoint leading to Jerusalem.
Despite the strict military restrictions, thousands of citizens flocked since this morning through the Qalandia military checkpoint, where the occupation army reinforced its forces at the checkpoint, checked the identities of citizens, and prevented men under 55 years of age and women under 50 years of age who had obtained “special permits” from entering Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that the occupation prevented hundreds of citizens from entering the two checkpoints to reach the occupied city of Jerusalem to perform the second Friday prayer of Ramadan at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The occupation forces also imposed restrictions on the entry of worshippers to Al-Aqsa Mosque, checked the identities of young men at the entrances to the Old City and the gates of the mosque, and prevented a number of them from entering.
The occupation authorities also tightened their measures around Jerusalem, by imposing entry restrictions, deploying barriers and restricting those coming to the city, in a move aimed at reducing the number of worshippers.
