Two citizens were injured by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire on Thursday night in the towns of al-Ram and Qalandia, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews responded to a citizen injured by live bullets in the thigh near the separation wall in the town of al-Ram, and a young man injured by live bullets in the foot near the separation wall in the town of Qalandia, and transferred them to the hospital.
Local sources reported that occupation forces pursued a number of workers near the apartheid wall and opened fire at them.
On Wednesday morning, Salim Raji Hassan Abu Aisha, 57, from the town of Zababdeh, south of Jenin, was martyred after being beaten on the head by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Al-Ram while trying to reach his workplace. This brings the number of martyred workers to 16 since the beginning of this year, either by bullets from the occupation forces, during pursuit inside the 1948 territories, or by falling from the separation wall, according to data from the General Federation of Palestinian Workers’ Unions.
In recent months, hundreds of workers have been arrested and abused by Israeli police on the grounds that they lack permits.
Since October 2023, the union has documented the deaths of 42 workers and more than 32,000 worker arrests.
