Imad Mohsen, spokesman for the Democratic Reform Current in Fatah, said that the meeting between Palestinian factions in Cairo came at a crucial time and place. He pointed out that Egypt, which has always embraced the Palestinian cause, is hosting this meeting at a critical moment when our people are facing genocide and ongoing aggression.
In an interview with Gaza News Agency on Sunday, Mohsen denied media leaks suggesting that the meeting with Hamas was tense, adding, “Quite the opposite, it was characterized by a responsible, fraternal spirit toward stopping and confronting the genocide.”
Mohsen emphasized that there is a national consensus among the various factions on the need to halt the aggression against our people and to engage with the efforts made by mediators to thwart the extremist plans of the occupation government, led by Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben-Gvir, aimed at occupying Gaza and displacing its people.
Mohsen stressed that the Palestinian people and their forces stand united today in the face of existential threats, and that the meeting in Cairo represents a clear message to the world that Palestinians are committed to their right to remain on their land and to confront displacement and uprooting projects.
