On the third day of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, residents continue to lick their wounds and inspect what remains of their destroyed homes and neighborhoods, after 735 days of genocide waged by Israel against the Palestinian people.
Yesterday, Saturday, according to local sources, saw the forced return of half a million displaced persons to Gaza City. Photos, video clips, and testimonies from returning citizens reveal the extent of the destruction caused by the war machine and brutal force during the conflict.
Civil defense forces are working to extract more bodies from the rubble, after announcing the recovery of more than 100 bodies from several areas of the Gaza Strip on the first day of the ceasefire.
Hospitals in the Gaza Strip urged the world to urgently provide medical aid to treat the massive numbers of sick and wounded.
Hundreds of trucks carrying various types of aid are preparing to enter the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom and Auja crossings in the southern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, field preparations are underway for a prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel, which is expected to take place tomorrow, Monday.
Dozens of prisoners from the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem are expected to be released tomorrow, Monday, as part of a deal to end the war on the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Israel, in accordance with US President Donald Trump’s plan.
The exchange deal includes the release of approximately 250 prisoners serving life sentences and approximately 1,700 prisoners from the Gaza Strip who were detained after October 7, 2023.
On Friday morning, the Israeli government ratified a ceasefire agreement on the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange with Palestinian factions. This means the ceasefire agreement will enter into immediate effect, halting the genocide that has lasted more than two years.
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday evening the end of the war in the Gaza Strip.
“We have ended the war in Gaza, and I believe we are moving toward a lasting peace,” Trump said in a speech, adding that the “hostages” would be released on Monday or Tuesday.
Sharm El-Sheikh Summit
Leaders, including US President Donald Trump, are expected to arrive in Egypt for an international summit on the Gaza Strip. Egypt announced Saturday evening that it will host the summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, with more than 20 leaders participating to discuss ending the war in the Strip.
The Egyptian presidency announced that the summit, titled the “Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit,” will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday afternoon, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders of more than 20 countries.
