Jerusalem, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished four houses in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on Monday .
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation forces, accompanied by heavy machinery, stormed the Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan and demolished homes belonging to the Awad, Abu Shafe’ and Al-Ruwaidi families without prior warning .
This demolition comes as part of the occupation’s ongoing policies to impose restrictions on Palestinian construction in and around occupied Jerusalem, exacerbating the housing crisis and limiting the ability of residents to maintain and expand their homes .
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, during the past month of February, the occupation authorities carried out 49 demolition and bulldozing operations in the governorate, including 15 forced self-demolition operations, 27 demolitions by occupation machinery, and 7 land bulldozing operations. They also seized 143 notices, including 125 demolition orders, 16 evacuation orders, and two seizure orders, concentrated in Anata, Silwan, Al-Eizariya, and Abu Dis .
