Jerusalem, April 2, 2026 (WAFA) – For the 34th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation authorities continue to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshippers, citing security conditions related to the American-Israeli war on Iran.
The occupation police are tightening their military measures around the holy city and at the entrances to Palestinian cities and towns in the West Bank.
In this context, the so-called “Temple Mount groups” continue to incite people to storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish Passover holiday, calling for “sacrifices” to be made inside it, and demanding that it be opened during the holiday period, which extends from April 2 to 9.
In contrast, the occupation is exploiting the “state of emergency” as a pretext to strengthen its control over Al-Aqsa Mosque, amid escalating popular and Jerusalemite calls to mobilize towards the nearest points and military checkpoints surrounding it, to break the siege imposed on it, and to force its reopening.
