The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourned the two prominent Hezbollah leaders, Ibrahim Aqil and Ahmed Wahbi, along with a group of field leaders who were martyred as a result of the treacherous Israeli bombardment that targeted the southern suburb yesterday. In a statement received by Safa Agency on Saturday, the Front offered its sincere condolences to the brotherly Lebanese people, Hezbollah and its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, for the martyrdom of the group of martyred leaders and civilians, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded. She expressed her full solidarity with Lebanon and its valiant resistance, which lost prominent figures among its resistance fighters and Hezbollah leaders, who left important marks in resisting the occupation over many years. She pointed out that the great martyr leader Ibrahim Aqil, who led and participated in many battles that exhausted the enemy, had a pivotal role in the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, which changed the rules of engagement in support of Gaza.As for the prominent martyr leader Ahmed Wahbi, he played an important role in leading the Radwan Force on the support fronts, where he assumed responsibility for training fighters and preparing them for the decisive battles, which contributed to strengthening the resistance’s qualitative capabilities. She stressed that the two martyrs, along with the martyr leader Fouad Shukr, were shining signs in developing the resistance’s capabilities at all levels in recent months. They played a pioneering role in the field of qualitative military operations, and in enhancing Hezbollah’s strategic and tactical capabilities during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle. She added that the martyr Aqil had many battles not only with the occupation, but also with the American enemy, as he had a prominent role in confronting the American forces in Lebanon, participating in the famous attack on the American Marines, which prompted them to flee Lebanon after that explosion that shook the American presence in the region, and was a pivotal event in the path of the resistance. She considered that this new Israeli massacre, which came as a result of joint planning and implementation between the US administration and the Israeli entity, falls within a deliberate escalation policy aimed at striking infrastructure, civilian facilities and innocent civilians, in a failed attempt to subjugate the resistance, break its resolve and weaken its popular base. The Front continued, “But they are delusional if they think that targeting leaders will break the will of the resistance or weaken the steadfastness of our peoples.”She stressed that the loss of these great symbols is a huge loss, but the resistance has always proven that it is able to compensate for its losses, and that its will does not know how to retreat in the face of challenges and the escalation of Israeli crimes. She said: “We firmly believe that the martyrdom of the leaders, despite its enormity, cannot break the will of the resistance or weaken its resolve. Rather, their pure blood will remain fuel to ignite the fronts of supporting Gaza from Lebanon and other arenas, and will strengthen the determination of the resistance fighters to confront the enemy by all possible means.”
