Ramallah, March 8, 2026 (WAFA) – Ma’an Al-Rimawi
In the schoolyard, the bodies of the three martyrs were laid side by side, wrapped in the Palestinian flag, while citizens lined up to take a final look .
The sounds of wailing and crying grew louder, and hands moved forward to touch the foreheads and faces of the martyrs, while others tried to embrace them, before one of them asked to line up to pray over them .
As soon as the prayer ended, the takbirs and chants rose, and hundreds came forward to carry the coffins towards the cemetery to bury them .
At dawn today, the residents of Abu Falah town, northeast of Ramallah, were surprised by hundreds of settlers who infiltrated the town from its northern perimeter. They rushed to confront them and prevent them from reaching the homes of citizens, including: Thaer Hamayel, Fares Hamayel, and Muhammad Hussein Murra .
As soon as the settlers approached, they began firing at the citizens, which led to the martyrdom of the citizens Hamayel, who were affected by their head injuries .
The occupation forces immediately stormed the area to provide protection for the settlers, and began firing live ammunition and gas bombs at the citizens, which led to the martyrdom of Muhammad Hussein Marra, as a result of his heart stopping due to inhaling tear gas, in addition to injuring seven others with various wounds .
Ahmed Hamayel, one of the citizens who rushed to confront the raid, was close to the two martyrs and said: “As soon as we arrived, Thaer and Fara’a advanced and asked them to go back, but they started shooting at us, which led to Thaer being hit in the head, and he was martyred as a result, and then Fara’a followed him with a head injury as well.”
He adds: I immediately stepped forward, carried Fara’a, and transferred him to my vehicle, and I sped off towards Abu Falah Medical Center, but he was martyred before he could be transferred to Ramallah Hospital .
Hamayel confirmed that the settlers had set up tents north of the town about two years ago and used them as a platform for their aggression against the town. Since then, the attacks have continued, as they burned down the farm and house of citizen Musa Abu Karsh two weeks ago, preceded by the burning down of Basil Al-Sheikh’s house, and other attacks, all of which are part of a systematic policy aimed at terrorizing citizens and displacing them, where protection is provided and the green light is given by the occupation army to the settler gangs who wreak havoc in Palestinian villages, camps and towns .
Inside the home of the martyr Thaer, which was completely full after the locals had been flocking to it since the morning, Melia sat receiving kisses of condolences on her head, while she remained busy waiting for her son Thaer to bid him farewell and embrace him. As soon as he arrived and was laid out in front of her, she started ululating and began asking the women to stop crying .
The same thing happened with the home of the martyr Fara’a, which was also filled with mourners .
Badra Hamayel, the sister of the martyr Fara’, said, “At exactly 1:30 in the morning, I woke up to the sounds of mosque loudspeakers calling on people to go out and confront the hordes of settlers who raided the town. Fara’ immediately went out to the “Al-Badoud” area to answer the call, and he was in the front lines, but he did not return . ”
She explained that this was not the first time that Far’a had confronted the settlers’ attack, but had done so several times before, and he always said that we are servants of the homeland. Two weeks ago, he confronted a settlers’ attack on the outskirts of the town, which resulted in a house being burned .
She confirmed that the settlers’ raid was for the purpose of killing, and the evidence is the shooting at the upper extremities of the body, as Far’a was martyred by a bullet to the head, and the same is true for Tha’er .
According to available data, the West Bank witnessed a significant escalation in settler violations during the first week of the war, between 2/28/2026 and 3/8/2026. Estimates indicate that they increased by approximately 25% compared to the period preceding the outbreak of the Israeli-American military confrontation with Iran .
During this period, 8 martyrs were killed; five of them were killed by settlers’ bullets, namely: Thaer Farouq Hamayel (24 years old), and Fares Jawdat Hamayel (57 years old) from the village of Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah, and the two brothers, Muhammad Taha Abdul Majeed Muammar (52 years old) and Fahim Abdul Majeed Muammar (47 years old) from the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus, in addition to Amir Muhammad Shanaran (27 years old) from the town of Yatta, south of Hebron .
