Nablus, January 13, 2026 (WAFA) – Police Chief Major General Allam Al-Saqqa visited the old Askar camp in Nablus on Tuesday, accompanied by a British delegation.
Al-Saqqa and the delegation were briefed on the conditions of the camp, where he stressed that Askar camp represents a distinguished national case and a model of discipline and commitment to order and law, stressing that the residents of the camp reject chaos and any manifestation of disorder, and that the police and security services are working in partnership with our people to protect security, rights and dignity .
Major General Al-Saqqa said that the residents of the camp are characterized by awareness, education and culture, and among them are political and community leaders, and they aspire to live in freedom and dignity, stressing that the police are able to impose security and order, and have real partnerships with the camps through the community policing approach, where community councils have been formed in a number of camps to enhance cooperation between the police and citizens .
This tour was attended by Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas, Fatah Movement Regional Secretary Muhammad Hamdan, directors of security services in the governorate, Nablus Police Chief Brigadier General Issa Abu Allan, and the British delegation.
During the visit, Major General Al-Saqqa and the delegation headed to the Popular Committee for Services of the Old Askar Camp, the “Our Children” Association for People with Disabilities, the Askar Women’s Center, the Askar Youth Center, and the Dar Al-Funoun Theater, where he met with the camp’s residents and children and listened to their comments and needs, in addition to a tour inside the camp’s streets and alleys to see the conditions on the ground .
In this context, Major General Al-Saqqa inspected the new city police station in Nablus, which was recently rehabilitated and renovated, with the aim of improving and upgrading the level of services provided to citizens .
Major General Al-Saqqa also visited the police directorate and met with the directors of departments and sections in the governorate’s police, where he conveyed to them the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa, and Interior Minister Major General Ziad Hab Al-Reeh, calling on the officers to work continuously in providing the best services to citizens, preserving their rights and dignity, and applying the law fairly to everyone, stressing that serving the sons of our people is an honor and a responsibility that requires the utmost effort .
Major General Al-Saqqa praised the performance of all departments and sections and their remarkable field presence, especially in exceptional and difficult circumstances, noting that the police work around the clock to improve their services, pointing to the distinguished role played by the police during the recent weather conditions in serving and protecting citizens .
