The Moroccan capital, Rabat, witnessed a solidarity rally with Gaza on Tuesday evening in support of the Global Steadfastness Flotilla, which is working to break the Israeli blockade of the Strip.
The rally was called by the Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Nation’s Causes (a non-governmental organization). Hundreds of Moroccans participated, chanting slogans in support of the “Palestinian resistance” and rejecting the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Expressing their condemnation of Israel’s policy of forced displacement and genocide in Gaza, the demonstrators chanted slogans including: “No, no, no to normalization and running away,” “Oh martyr, rest easy, we will continue the struggle,” and “No, no to starvation.”
They also praised the Global Steadfastness Flotilla initiative to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, calling for support to ensure it achieves its goals.
The “Resilience Fleet” comprises approximately 50 ships, with activists from European, African, Latin American, the United States, Pakistan, India, and Malaysia participating.
For days, dozens of ships, including Maghrebi ships, have been sailing as part of the “Resilience Fleet” to break the blockade and deliver humanitarian aid, particularly medical supplies, to the Gaza Strip.
This is the first time such a large number of ships have sailed together toward the Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians and under Israeli siege for 18 years.
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving 65,382 dead and 166,985 injured, most of them children and women, and causing a famine that has claimed the lives of 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
