Hundreds of Moroccans demonstrated in the cities of Tangier and Marrakesh in support of the Global Steadfastness Flotilla, which is seeking to break the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Moroccan protesters participated in a protest in Tangier on Thursday evening, at the invitation of the Moroccan Initiative for Support and Advocacy. They held up banners demanding an end to the genocide and the protection of the “Resilience Fleet.”
Marrakesh witnessed a similar protest called for by the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine.
Participants held up banners demanding that the Moroccan state protect the “Resilience Flotilla,” which includes Moroccan human rights activists, doctors, and technicians.
Through their slogans, they criticized what they described as “the inability of the international community to stop the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”
For days, approximately 50 ships as part of the “Resilience Fleet” have been sailing toward the Gaza Strip, carrying humanitarian aid, particularly medical supplies, and carrying more than 500 civilian activists.
This is the first time such a large number of ships have sailed together toward the Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians and under Israeli siege for 18 years.
On Wednesday, the Steadfastness Fleet announced that 12 explosions occurred on nine of its ships, as a result of being targeted by drones
