Khan Younis, November 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Hatem Abu Daqqa
The rains that fell with the first rainy weather depression on the Palestinian territories revealed the vulnerability of the dilapidated tents and flooded their inhabitants, who were displaced people, in the Khan Younis area, west of the governorate, south of the Gaza Strip .
The displaced people spent the night in what resembled the open air under the influence of the bitter cold after their tents were flooded and their blankets, clothes and all their belongings were soaked, in a scene that embodies their suffering over three seasons since the start of the war, after they were forcibly forced to leave their homes and move to the Al-Mawasi area .
Late at night, Sally Abu Khater, a displaced woman from the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, was forced to leave her tent after it was flooded while they were sleeping. She and her children took refuge in her brother’s tent, which was in better condition than her own .
Abu Khater told Wafa about the suffering that began with the start of winter and the first low-pressure system that hit the Palestinian territories, as the heavy rains swept away the sand and flooded their tent, leaving them submerged in water, and all their blankets and belongings were soaked.
Near the camp where Abu Khater is displaced, heavy rains flooded dozens of tents due to the tents being close together and the lack of water outlets .
