Occupied Jerusalem – Safa
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved on Tuesday the revocation of residency permits for two prisoners from occupied Jerusalem and their deportation to the Gaza Strip, in a first-of-its-kind precedent.
The decision signed by Netanyahu concerns the released prisoner Mahmoud Ahmed from the town of Kafr Aqab, whom he ordered to be deported to Gaza immediately, and the deportation of prisoner Muhammad Ahmed Hussein Al-Halsa from the town of Jabal Al-Mukaber after the expiration of his sentence.
After signing the decision to deport the two prisoners, Netanyahu threatened that “many more like them are on the way.”
This is the first time the occupation government has taken this measure, three years after the Knesset approved a bill allowing the withdrawal of citizenship and deportation of Palestinian prisoners on the pretext of receiving financial allowances from the Palestinian Authority.
The Israeli occupation authorities will immediately deport and revoke the residency of released prisoner Mahmoud Ahmed from Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, after he served a 23-year sentence since 2001, before being released in 2024 after being convicted of several charges, weapons violations, and planning to carry out operations.
Meanwhile, it will deport and revoke the residency of prisoner Muhammad Ahmad Hussein Al-Halsa, a resident of Jabal Al-Mukaber in Jerusalem, who has been serving an 18-year prison sentence since 2016, after he has served his sentence and been released from prison.Removing Benjamin Netanyahu, deporting prisoners, and revoking Jerusalem residency
