The Israeli occupation continues, on Friday, its refusal to honor the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which came into effect on January 19 and lasted for nearly two months, after 471 days of genocide.
At dawn on Tuesday, March 18, the occupation resumed its brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip with dozens of airstrikes, killing more than 400 people and wounding 500 within hours, most of them children and women.
In early March, the first phase of the 42-day ceasefire agreement in Gaza ended. It included a multi-stage prisoner exchange between resistance factions and Israel, a limited withdrawal of the Israeli army, and the return of displaced persons to their destroyed homes.
Israel has reneged on entering the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which was supposed to last for 42 days, followed by a third phase of the same duration, leading to a permanent ceasefire and cessation of hostilities.
On October 7, 2023, the commander-in-chief of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the martyr Muhammad Deif, announced the launch of Operation “Flood of Al-Aqsa” in response to the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians and its repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army announced the launch of Operation “Iron Swords” against the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, 66,225 citizens have been martyred, while the number of injured has reached 168,938, approximately 72% of whom are women and children, according to the Ministry of Health.
In contrast, Israeli military estimates indicate that more than 1,500 Israelis have been killed since the start of the fighting, including more than 700 officers and soldiers, in addition to approximately 10,000 wounded.
