The General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s continued refusal to allow its crews to conduct humanitarian interventions in numerous residential areas and to reach injured civilians whose cries for help are coming from under the rubble of residential buildings destroyed above them.In a statement on Monday, the director indicated that her humanitarian distress room registered 10 distress calls with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) during August, but the occupation continues to refuse coordination and access for our crews to those areas. The emergency room has been trying since the day before yesterday to obtain the occupation’s approval to reach the Abu Saada family near the Al-Awda bakery in the Bani Suhaila area of Khan Yunis, to evacuate four people, including an injured father and daughter, who are still trapped after the occupation targeted their home. She stressed the need to compel the occupation to implement international humanitarian law, allow humanitarian service providers to operate, and evacuate civilians from dangerous areas.
