On Sunday morning, extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed the occupied city of Umm al-Fahm, accompanied by occupation forces.According to the Arab 48 website, extremist Ben Gvir threatened residents of the Mahajna neighborhood with imposing sovereignty and demolishing citizens’ homes under the pretext of lacking permits.Ben-Gvir is expected to conduct a provocative tour of Umm al-Fahm neighborhoods, a police station in the city, and a police station in Wadi Ara.In a statement, the Umm al-Fahm Municipality condemned Ben-Gvir’s raid on the city, describing it as provocative and a pathetic attempt to cover up the policies of demolition and harassment of our people under the pretext of enforcing demolition orders on unlicensed homes. She stressed that such incursions do not carry any professional or legal dimension, but rather are abhorrent, unacceptable, and demonstrative visits whose goal is nothing more than incitement, threats, and intimidation, as is his usual method. She said, “We refuse to allow our city to be a venue for electioneering or media spectacle for this extremist right-wing minister, known for his racist rhetoric against Arabs in general and our people in Israel in particular.”She added, “We say it clearly: Such visits are not welcome, and there is no place for racism in our city. Umm al-Fahm will remain resilient to policies of intimidation and will continue to adhere to its right to a dignified life and to develop its land and homes.”Ben-Gvir’s raid is part of his ongoing incitement against Palestinians in the occupied territories, as he continues to exploit his position to push the occupation government to tighten its security grip and expand its demolition policy. It’s worth noting that occupation forces assaulted demonstrators in Umm al-Fahm yesterday, Saturday, with excessive violence and beatings, arresting nine protesters, the last of whom was released this morning.
