The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency launched the “Warm Winter” 2025 campaign, under the slogan “Together We Give Warmth and Hope,” to approximately 5,000 needy families distributed across several neighborhoods in Jerusalem and villages in the governorate. The campaign is funded by the Dakhla Municipal Council, one of the governorates of the Moroccan Sahara.The “Warm Winter” project provides tangible and direct support to Jerusalem residents and Jerusalem-based institutions that house people in need. This project aims to alleviate the difficult living burdens that burden families amid the difficult circumstances facing Palestinians of all backgrounds.Jerusalem activist Nasser Qaws, a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem, confirmed that the campaign aims to support marginalized families in the city, particularly in the Old City and the suburbs of Jerusalem.He explained that the city’s residents and institutions appreciate the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, headed by King Mohammed VI, for the steadfastness of our people in the city.For her part, Dalal Lafi, President of the Amelison Women’s Association, emphasized that the continued support from the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency and the Kingdom of Morocco constitutes a fundamental pillar in strengthening the resilience of Jerusalemite families and enabling them to confront the difficult circumstances facing the city.She explained that this humanitarian and social support contributes to empowering needy families and orphans.She added, “We have needy families and orphan sponsorships. We always need this support to survive and withstand challenges.”For her part, Ilham Abdel Jawad, president of the “On the Path of Goodness We Walk” Association, expressed her appreciation for the Moroccan grant, which “had a significant impact on the poor and needy families in Jerusalem.”She pointed out that “providing clothing, a blanket, or a heater in this bitter cold strengthens families’ resilience and gives them a sense of security.”For her part, Obaida Al-Muzaffar, supervisor of the Zahrat Al-Quds Orphanage Association, a Moroccan from Fez, expressed her great appreciation for the support provided by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, emphasizing that this ongoing humanitarian giving contributes to alleviating the suffering of orphans and people with special needs in the Holy City.”We care for approximately 170 orphans at the association, including 36 children without mothers or fathers, in addition to children with disabilities. We strive to provide them with everything we can despite the difficult circumstances,” she said.For his part, Al-Bustan Association President Qutaiba Odeh emphasized that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency’s recent humanitarian and social initiatives come at a sensitive time for Jerusalem following the recent war.He pointed out that the city of Jerusalem is suffering from real isolation and increasing difficulties, and that it is our duty, along with our brothers in Morocco, to strengthen the steadfastness of the residents and preserve their presence on their land and in their homes adjacent to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.For her part, Ilham Naaman, head of the Women’s Association for Development and Empowerment, said that this is the second time this year that the association has received support initiatives from the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency.She stressed that this support reflects the depth of Moroccan solidarity with Jerusalem and its women’s and social institutions, and contributes to strengthening the resilience of Jerusalemite women, especially in villages located within the separation wall.In this context, Dalal Obaid, a resident of the village of Nabi Samwil, said that Moroccan aid was not a one-time event, but rather continues on all occasions.She pointed out that the “Warm Winter 2025” campaign contributed to providing basic needs for families, such as clothing, blankets, and heating equipment.Obaid added that this support strengthens the resilience of Jerusalemites and inspires hope, emphasizing that the residents eagerly await these visits, which bring warmth and love from Morocco to Jerusalem.
