An Israeli special forces force arrested Hamas leader Jamal al-Tawil at dawn on Monday from his home in the Umm al-Sharait neighborhood of al-Bireh, in the central West Bank.
Local sources reported that a special force of occupation soldiers stormed Sheikh al-Tawil’s home and arrested him after assaulting and tying up his sons.
Sheikh Jamal al-Tawil is considered one of Hamas’s most prominent leaders in Ramallah, having spent more than 17 years in Israeli prisons.
