Jerusalem, February 18, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Health announced Wednesday evening the death of Nasrallah Muhammad Jamal Abu Siam (19 years old), who succumbed to injuries sustained during an attack by settlers on the village of Mikhmas, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Five citizens were injured, three of them by live ammunition, including the young man Abu Siam, whose condition was described as critical, in an attack by settlers and occupation forces earlier this evening on the village of Mikhmas, during which settlers stole dozens of sheep .
Abu Siam is the first martyr this year killed by settlers, bringing the total number of martyrs since October 7, 2023 to 37, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, amid escalating settler attacks on Palestinian villages, towns and communities in the West Bank .
The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Minister Mu’ayyad Sha’ban, stressed that what is happening in Mikhmas and other targeted areas constitutes a dangerous escalation in organized settler terrorism, and reflects a complete partnership between the settlers and the occupation forces.
He stressed that these crimes will not deter citizens from holding onto their land, and called for international protection for the Palestinian people .
The village of Mikhmas, and the nearby Bedouin community of Khallat al-Sidra, are subjected to repeated attacks by settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces. These attacks include assaulting citizens, shooting at them, destroying and burning homes, barns, and vehicles, and vandalizing solar panels and surveillance cameras, as well as seizing a number of them .
The “Khallat al-Sidra” settlement is located about 800 meters northeast of the village of Mikhmas. It is inhabited by 16 families from the Ka’abneh and Jahalin clans, totaling 59 people, almost half of whom are children, who make a living by raising livestock .
