Hebron, April 11, 2026 (WAFA) – A child and a young man were injured on Saturday evening in an attack by settlers on Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron .
Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamra told Wafa that settlers attacked the village of Al-Tuwaiba in Masafer Yatta and assaulted citizens, resulting in a young man suffering from suffocation due to pepper spray being sprayed in his face. In addition, the child Awad Khalil Awad (5 years old) suffered injuries and bruises to his head as a result of being pushed to the ground by settlers. Both were treated on the spot. He added that the settlers stole a number of livestock belonging to citizen Omar Muhammad Abu Jundiya .
He pointed out that the settlers also attacked farmers in the “Ashkara” area south of Yatta and chased them under the protection of the occupation soldiers who fired sound bombs and poison gas towards the houses and arrested the citizens: Munther Mahmoud Abu Qubaita and Hammad Jabr Al-Nawaj’ah, after they smashed their phones, as they also smashed the phone of the citizen Saddam Abu Qubaita .
In the same context, our correspondent reported that the occupation forces stormed the town of Al-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron, and assaulted a child, causing him bruises for which he was treated on the spot. They also fired sound bombs and toxic gas at the citizens.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, occupation soldiers and settlers carried out a total of 1,819 attacks during the past month of March, in continuation of the systematic terrorism practiced by the occupying state against the Palestinian people, their lands and properties.
The commission explained that the occupation army carried out 1,322 attacks, while the settlers carried out 497 attacks, indicating that these attacks were mainly concentrated in the governorates of: Hebron with 321 attacks, Nablus with 315, then Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 292, and Jerusalem with 203, in a clear indication of the intensity of the systematic targeting of these areas .
The commission indicated that the attacks took multiple forms, including direct physical violence, uprooting trees, burning fields, preventing farmers from accessing their lands, seizing property, in addition to demolishing homes and agricultural facilities.
