Spanish Health Minister Monica Garcia Gomez described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “genocidal perpetrator,” stressing that standing against him is a source of pride for Spain.
This came as part of the Spanish government’s response to Israel’s decision to remove Spain from the “Civil-Military Coordination Center,” and to Netanyahu’s accusations that Madrid was waging a “diplomatic war” against his country and threatening it.
Garcia said of Netanyahu during a television interview: “This man is a genocidal perpetrator. He committed one of the greatest genocides of our time, killing 70,000 civilians in Palestine, more than 20,000 of whom were children, and destroying southern Lebanon.”
The Spanish minister also mocked Netanyahu’s remarks about a “diplomatic war,” saying: “Is this a bad joke?”
She added: “I don’t know if it’s a joke or not, but what is certain is that Spain is standing up to this man.”
She continued: “It is a source of pride that Spain and its government are building a wall against this man and against the genocidal regime.”#Netanyahu
