Jerusalem, April 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities forced Jerusalemite citizen Muhammad Shahada Qwaider to demolish his own house in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, on Saturday, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the house, which has been standing since 2012, has an area of 100 square meters and houses citizen Qwaider, his wife and their six children, noting that the occupation imposed fines on the homeowner worth 60,000 shekels, of which about 25,000 shekels remain.
Three brothers from the Al-Tahhan family were forced to demolish their own homes earlier today, under the pretext of building without a permit, in the Ras Al-Amoud neighborhood of Silwan, under threat of hefty fines and forced demolition costs .

The Jerusalem Governorate stated that the self-demolition policy is part of a systematic plan targeting the Palestinian presence in the city, and aims to forcibly displace and restrict the population, especially in the neighborhoods surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque .
