Jerusalem, April 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Around 3,000 worshippers were able to perform the dawn prayer at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, forty days after it was closed by the Israeli occupation authorities.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that thousands of worshippers were able to perform the dawn prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the occupation’s strict measures, which included checking IDs, preventing a number of young men from entering, as well as assaulting some worshippers at the gates and trying to keep them away from the mosque’s courtyards.
She noted that the occupation police arrested the activist Muntaha Amara at one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, just hours after arresting another young man inside the Al-Aqsa courtyards.
The occupation soldiers also assaulted a number of young men and forced them to leave the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with the settlers’ storming of the mosque.
