The leadership of the National and Islamic Forces affirmed that the fiftieth anniversary of the immortal Land Day will remain a milestone of struggle and resistance to hold onto the land and defend rights, in the face of the occupation’s policies aimed at seizing lands and imposing illegal settlement realities. This came during a leadership meeting held on Monday, during which the latest political developments and internal issues were discussed. She stressed that the will of our people will not be broken and they will remain attached to their land and rights despite all attempts at uprooting and displacement. She stressed that what our people are being subjected to comes within the framework of a continuous aggression aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, by eliminating the right of return and rejecting the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. She explained that this comes in light of the killing, siege and destruction that the Gaza Strip is subjected to, and the settlement expansion and continuous attacks by settlers, under the protection of the occupation army, that the West Bank, including Jerusalem, is witnessing. The forces called for imposing international sanctions on the occupation and boycotting it, and holding it accountable for its crimes that amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. She emphasized her rejection of any attempts to circumvent the requirements of ending the blockade and rebuilding the Gaza Strip. She considered the targeting of Islamic and Christian holy sites to be a dangerous escalation, in light of the closure of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prevention of worshippers from accessing it, and the violations against the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The national forces called for urgent Arab, Islamic and international action to provide protection for holy sites and to stop these violations. She warned of the danger of attempts to pass a law to execute prisoners, considering it a double crime aimed at breaking the will of the prisoners. She called for urgent action at various levels to reject it, and to emphasize the revival of Palestinian Prisoner’s Day on the seventeenth of next month, which would enhance the status of the prisoners’ issue as a national priority.I reiterate that policies of ethnic cleansing and collective punishment, including house demolitions and forced displacement, especially in the city of Jerusalem, will not undermine the steadfastness of our people, who will continue their struggle for freedom and independence, the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the right of return for refugees. The forces congratulated the Palestinian Democratic Union “FIDA” on the anniversary of its founding, praising its militant role within the Palestine Liberation Organization.National forces, Land Day, holy sites
