Ramallah, March 18, 2026 (WAFA) – The Higher Committee for Following Up on the Conditions of Our People in Lebanon, formed by the Palestinian leadership and headed by Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh, held a meeting this evening in Ramallah with the participation of Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and members of the committee, as part of its follow-up on the conditions of our people refugees in brotherly Lebanon in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression that has targeted our people in the camps.
The committee listened to the relevant authorities regarding the details of what is happening there, and the “evacuation orders” issued by the Israeli occupation forces to a number of residents of the Rashidieh, Burj al-Barajneh and al-Bass camps, in addition to the aggression to which the Qasmiya, Burghliya, Shabriha and other communities are subjected.
The committee affirmed that, based on direct instructions from His Excellency the President, the relevant authorities will provide various forms of support and assistance to alleviate the suffering of our people in Lebanon, in coordination with the Department of Refugee Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Lebanon, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, UNRWA, and the Lebanese state, along with all other active components and frameworks on the Lebanese scene.
The committee agreed to immediately begin making contacts with various parties to ensure the protection of our people and alleviate their suffering. It also decided to form a special committee to monitor the current situation and to remain in permanent session to follow developments.
The committee thanked the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and all United Nations institutions for their efforts in this regard.
