Two Palestinian fishermen were mildly hurt by Israeli occupation navy shots this morning, Monday, as they were sailing off the coast of Beit Lahiya, a city in the northern Gaza Strip.

The fisherman Rajab Khaled Abu Ryala and the fisherman’s sister Khaldoun were shot in the head with a rubber bullet in the Al-Waha region of the northern Gaza Strip, according to Zakaria Bakr, a representative of the Federation of Fishermen’s Committees, who spoke to a correspondent for the “Safa” news agency.

He remarked, “The injured fishermen are being pulled out of the sea.”

According to Bakr, the occupation navy surrounded a different fishing boat at a distance of

3 nautical miles, reporting the fishermen’s injuries as minor, and transporting them to the hospital for care.

This incident occurs on May 1st, the day the world observes International Workers’ Day.

The Israeli occupation navy continues to target fishermen practically every day, killing a number of them, injuring scores, arresting others, and seizing their boats.
