A baby died from the extreme cold, bringing the death toll since the start of winter to 10 children.
Gaza, January 24, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll from the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,654 martyrs and 171,391 wounded since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
Medical sources reported on Saturday that during the past 48 hours, 4 citizens were killed and 12 others were injured by the occupation’s fire and shelling, while a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and rescue teams are unable to reach them at this moment .
The same sources indicated that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 481, and the total number of injuries to 1,313, while 713 bodies have been recovered.
The death of three-month-old Ali Abu Zur was announced as a result of the extreme cold at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, bringing the number of child deaths due to the cold since the beginning of winter to 10.
She noted that 88 martyrs were added to the cumulative statistics of martyrs, whose data was completed and approved by the Martyrs Approval Committee from 16/01/2026 to 23/01/2026.
