Jericho, January 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities demolished a house in the town of Deir al-Dik al-Tahta, west of Jericho, on Thursday. They also demolished a palm grove and issued a demolition order for another one east of the city.
Our correspondent reported, citing security sources, that the occupation forces, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed Deir al-Dik al-Tahta and demolished a house belonging to a Jerusalemite citizen on the pretext of lack of a permit.
She added that the occupation forces demolished a “barracks” facility inside a palm farm belonging to the Abu Jarar factory, and notified of the demolition of another belonging to the Sinqrat palm farms east of Jericho.
According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities carried out a total of 538 demolition operations during the past year, which resulted in the demolition of 1,400 structures, including 304 inhabited homes and 74 uninhabited homes, in addition to 270 economic facilities and 490 agricultural facilities, concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Tubas and Nablus.
