Gaza, January 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources reported the death of a seven-day-old infant on Saturday morning in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, due to the severe cold and low temperatures .
The death toll from the storm and severe cold in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 15 .
These figures reflect the severity of the humanitarian situation in the sector, especially for children and displaced people living in flimsy tents that are ill-equipped to withstand the cold weather, as the people of the Gaza Strip suffer from a lack of shelter and treatment, and a lack of heating due to fuel shortages, amid a stormy, cold and rainy weather depression .
