On Sunday evening, the Israeli occupation army imposed a closure at the Beit Iksa checkpoint northwest of occupied Jerusalem, detaining dozens of vehicles and causing a severe traffic jam and delaying citizens for hours as they tried to enter or leave the village.
Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation soldiers stopped vehicles, confiscated the IDs of their passengers, and obstructed traffic, in an action that adds to a series of restrictions imposed on the residents of Beit Iksa, who have been suffering from a tight siege for years.
This measure is part of an ongoing policy targeting the besieged villages northwest of Jerusalem, by tightening checkpoints and preventing the normal movement of residents, which exacerbates their daily suffering and affects their access to their workplaces and basic services
