Jericho, January 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Settlers forced 15 Palestinian families to leave the Al-Auja Bedouin community north of Jericho on Saturday, bringing the total number of families forcibly displaced from the community to 94.
The Al-Baydar human rights organization reported that a series of harassments and ongoing attacks by settlers led to the successive departure of families, following the departure of 20 farming families from Yatta and the departure of 26 families from Al-Kaabneh at the beginning of this month, as a result of repeated attacks over the past weeks.
She added that the violations included grazing livestock on agricultural lands, vandalizing fruit trees and crops, and continuously provoking the residents, stressing that these actions are part of a systematic policy aimed at putting pressure on Bedouin communities and imposing control over their lands.
The Al-Bader human rights organization stressed that these events reflect a deliberate targeting of Bedouin communities in the northern Jordan Valley, and aim to create an unlivable environment and impose a forced colonial reality, with the resulting economic and social crises that threaten the safety of the population.
It called on the international community, human rights and media organizations to take urgent action to protect Bedouin communities and prevent the worsening of the displacement crisis and attacks on Palestinian lands and properties.
