Elections for the Birzeit University Student Council will start this morning, on Wednesday.
The Islamic Wafaa Bloc of Hamas, the Student Youth Movement of Fatah, and the Progressive Student Pole of the Popular Front are the three student alliances running for office.
In the undergraduate program, there are 12,163 students who are eligible to vote, however, there are only 51 seats in the Student Council Conference.
The three student blocs held an election debate yesterday at the university, where they discussed their political and national platforms as well as their academic and labor union views. The day before, there was election propaganda.
