Jericho, January 8, 2026 (WAFA) – On Thursday, about 20 families were forced to leave the northern side of the Al-Auja Bedouin community north of Jericho, as a result of escalating and repeated attacks by settlers, accompanied by assaults and direct threats .
Hassan Mleihat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baydar human rights organization, explained in a press statement that the displaced families belong to the Al-Amrain “Al-Kaabneh” families, and they were forced to leave their homes and sources of livelihood for fear of their safety, in the absence of any protection, and the continuation of the policy of pressure and intimidation aimed at emptying the region of its original inhabitants .
He stressed that what is happening in the Al-Auja waterfall community is part of a systematic policy of forced displacement targeting Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley, and constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and human rights .
